Doctors trained in hospitals with lower-intensity medical practice are more likely to recognise when doing less is better

Assessing physicians’ ability to minimise the provision of unnecessary care is important to minimise costs and potential harms of medical care. Researchers have shown that where patients live has a lot to do with how they’re treated – this JAMA paper shows that the same goes for where doctors train and how they practice.
